As we declutter our homes, streamline our pantry organisation, and colour code everything from our bookcases to our wardrobes, it’s fair to say that there’s a growing appreciation for extreme organisation.
And if you’ve never been an organised traveller, it may well just be that you’ve never been equipped with adequate tools.
Australian-owned July luggage has officially arrived in Aotearoa and is available online now. Alongside the recent eCommerce launch, comes the new option to personalise your luggage with a photo of your favourite pet. It’s a fun way to ensure you never lose your bag and is a progression of the name and initial personalisation the brand has offered for some time – a far more stylish option than the ’80s trick of tying some tatty ribbon around your suitcase handle.
“We started July with the mission to create better products to lift people’s travel experience,” says co-founder Athan Didaskalou.
The brand boasts a suite of beautiful travel products, from hard-shell suitcases to overnight bags, backpacks, toiletry bags, and packing cells. Showpieces of the collection are the nostalgic design elements in the modern trunk case, along with stylish weekender duffle bags and totes.
July only sells directly to consumers, avoiding traditional overheads and retailer markups of competitors, allowing the brand to create the best bag at a significantly lower price.
July partnered with a best-in-class manufacturing facility to create its own wheels, casing and battery components to deliver the best result without compromise.
As to what’s behind the name – the name is quite simple: July is the most popular travel month of the year for all to move around.
July designs and builds its cases at the highest manufacturing standard possible. The July Lifetime Warranty means that for the lifetime of the case if something isn’t quite right the team will repair or replace it anywhere in the world, at no cost to the customer.
July launched in 2019 after frequent travellers and founders Athan Didaskalou and Richard Li had seen a category that was selling poorly designed products at extreme premiums and wanted to fix it. The duo read thousands of online reviews to find out the key pain points and desires in luggage and after a year of planning, designing, and testing, launched a singular product, the July Carry On.
The case features an ejectable battery to charge phones and laptops, SilentMove® 360 spinner wheels, an unbreakable 100% German polycarbonate shell, and a lifetime warranty. Since launch, the range has expanded to include multiple suitcases and accessories, all designed from the ground up in Melbourne.
“We have a great affinity for our friends across the Tasman Sea and are really excited to bring July over here, with all the features we’re known and loved for – great products, lifetime warranties, and free shipping,” continues Didaskalou.
The launch in Aotearoa is not the brand’s first international expansion, having opened an eCommerce store in the US in mid-2021. In the US, July is well known for its Carry On Light, the world’s lightest double-wheel carry-on suitcase, which weighs just 1.8kg.
July luggage is regularly seen on the arms of personalities such as Harry Styles, Chrissy Teigen and Celeste Barber and was the official luggage partner of the Olympics and Commonwealth Games.
