Chanel joins the clean beauty space with a new skincare and makeup line called N°1 de CHANEL crafted using sustainability sourced materials such as reduced packaging and natural formulas.
At the core of the N°1 DE CHANEL beauty line, red camellia extract is a flower with revitalising powers that targets reducing the skins ageing process, working to prevent and correct the appearance of the 5 signs of ageing. Chanel’s research team spent over 10 years with researches from the Department of Biotechnology and Ageing at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences in Vienna studying the effects of “The Czar” variety of Camellia japonica plant.
Protocatechuic acid found in the petals of the flower has been found to contain protective antioxidant benefits, soothing properties and regenerative effects. Not only does the compound reverse the signs of ageing, it also reduces the ageing effects of both internal and external effects of stress.
The Red Camellia skincare products are Revitalising Serum-in-Mist, Revitalising Lotion, Powder-to-Foam Cleanser, Revitalising Eye Cream, Revitalising Cream, Revitalising Serum and L’Eau Rouge Fragrance Mist. Meanwhile, the makeup-skincare hybrids include a long-wear Revitalising Foundation (in 20 shades) and a dual-purpose Revitalising Lip and Cheek Balm (in six shades).
To summarise, the N°1 de Chanel collection is designed to revitalise your complexion thanks to the powers of Red Camellia. The best part of this plant is that 76 per cent of it is used in production, including the petals, seeds and even the yeasts.
