Chanel Fall-Winter 21/22 Runway Rundown

It’s pretty safe to say that when it comes to Chanel, every runway show is most definitely ‘a moment’. And that includes a beauty moment that stands out from the rest and often kicks off a trend all its own.

This season it’s undoubtedly thick, kohl-rimmed eyes, as seen on the models at Chanel’s recent Fall-Winter 21/22 show, which was an absolute joy from start to finish. Virginie Viard’s show was about energy and “a desire for the absolute”, and along with the signature tweeds, monochromatic looks and jockey silks came bold top to bottom, thickly lined eyes that were as sophisticated as they were rock n’ roll.

Chanel’s Global Makeup and Colour Designer, the incredible Lucia Pica, has time and again created looks that are wearable but also lean towards the dramatic, and can easily be translated from the runway to the real way. Her blurry, slept-in eye looks have always been a favourite with beauty editors, and her take on the traditional smoked out eye is always one you just want to rush out and try, ASAP.

This season, the blurred-out kohl look went soft on the upper and lower lashes, for the perfect worn in, Kate Moss vibe. What we love is the fact that the lines are not sharp or perfect – they were imperfectly smudged out for a soft, feminine take on the look that pretty much anyone can wear.

Key products to recreate this look for yourself include;

Le Crayon Kohl Intense Eye Pencil in 61 Noir Le Volume

Révolution de Chanel Mascara in 10 Noir

Chanel Les 4 Ombres in 334 Modern Glamour

The rest of the face was softly matte thanks to a carefully blended application of Ultra Le Teint, with Les Beiges Health Glow Sheer Powder to set. In signature Pica fashion, lips were soft and slightly dewy looking, thanks to a slick of super hydrating Rouge Coco Bloom in 116 Dream.

Hair was glossy, fuss-free and easy care, leaving the makeup to make a statement that is destined to be recreated, time and time again.
