The work of the late and highly revered designer Karl Lagerfeld is set to take centre stage at the iconic 2023 Met Gala. This year’s event is dedicated to the legacy of Karl Lagerfeld, with the Met Gala dress code for 2023 ‘In honour of Karl’.
Also featuring a retrospective exhibition that honours the artistic brilliance of Karl, the theme is set as Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty and will feature 150 looks from the designer’s portfolio.
Having designed for legendary houses throughout his prolific career – including Chanel, Balmain, Patou, Fendi and Chloé, as well as his own eponymous brand, this year’s event promises to be a feast of visual delights, showcasing his modern designs alongside archival pieces.
The 2023 Met gala will be held on May 1 2023 at New York’s Fifth Avenue and event co-chairs this year include Michaela Coel, PenélopeCruz, Roger Federer, Dua Lipa and Anna Wintour.
