If you follow me on Instagram (@mshelene99) you’ll know that I recently spent a week at the incredible Aro Hā retreat in between Queenstown and Glenorchy. While I was being inspired, cared for and reinvigorated by time in their beautiful surroundings the snow fell, blanketing the surrounding peaks in snow and seeing me spending a lot of time daydreaming and reading by a log fire. I honestly never wanted to leave, but it was time to return to reality so return to reality I did!
When I arrived home the most serendipitous delivery arrived on my desk in the form of GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES’s Limited Edition ‘Fireside in Queenstown’ 380g Triple Scented Soy Candle. Yep, the highly anticipated, cult candle is back. And it couldn’t have landed at a better time. When the New Zealand exclusive launched last year, it sold out faster than any other limited edition product and a wait list of over 2,000 ensued. Such was the demand that local stockists I spoke to were sending product around the world, home fragrance fans just couldn’t get enough. And yep, the hype was worth it – this beauty transported me back to the south in an instant, and I haven’t stopped indulging in some wick time with it ever since.
Inspired and invigorating, ‘Fireside in Queenstown’ was designed to “capture majestic mountainscapes and a fire’s flickering flames at night”, and the warm and enveloping fragrance ignites the senses with notes of cinnamon, clove and sandalwood which roar to life with wild Orris and rich Guaiac Wood. It’s quite simply a fragrance as intense as a flickering fire, and as comforting as moments of après ski, mulled wine in hand.
GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES Founder Nicole Eckels comments: “I absolutely love New Zealand and can’t wait to come back. This candle is inspired by the warmth of smoky fireplaces and days on the slopes. This limited edition and oh so popular Fireside In Queenstown candle will transport you there through the power of scent with notes of cinnamon, sandalwood, orris and guaiac wood.”
Dramatically dressed in black, the glass vessel features the iconic GLASSHOUSE FRAGRANCES logo lock up blazing in gold; whilst the packaging recalls the breath-taking alpine vistas of Queenstown washed in watercolour. From the inspiration to the packaging and that divine scent, this limited edition beauty is an absolute winner for winter.
