The Biggest Beauty Moments from London Fashion Week SS21

by Esha

London is calling! Despite concerns over whether the event would run, London has risen to the occasion, proving that even a pandemic won’t damper spring 2021. Now, more than ever, we need a sense of occasion, even if we can’t be there in person (ambiguous of me to believe I would have been invited). Carefully and socially distanced, the show did indeed, go on.

Majority of brands created a spectacle this season, putting more emphasis on performance art videos for digital guests, while others stuck to the traditional runway shows. Suffice to say, that despite the worldly challenges 2020 has thrown, London came back fighting.

We have pulled our favourite beauty looks from LFW SS21, get ready to recreate crystal tattoos, elaborate updos and unexpected colour use in the comfort of your home.

Lula Laora –  All Pink Everything

Bold brows and matching highlight were the beauty focal point of the show. Makeup artist Miranda Baron did not go easy on the pink, coating brows, temples and cheeks I the same fuchsia hue.

Simone Rocha: Victorian Glamour

Thomas de Kluyver’s Victorian pigments dramatically contrasted the models matte skin and nude lips, a far cry from modern blending. Paired with tight ringlets created by hairstylist Cyndia Harvey using tiny curling irons, and casual pearl accessories.

Osman: Painted Brows

Skin bare, strokes of cream liner in hues of blue, yellow and pink were smudged onto models’ brows and lids at this LWF Show. The abstract look pulls attention to brow-level, appropriate for the supermarket dash!

Bor Aksu : Blurred Lines

While we’re all wearing face masks, there’s been a major emphasis on the eyes and not much lip attention. Makeup artist Janeen Witherspoon created some much needed inspiration using MUA brand Kyrolan, with intentionally blurred edges for the lived-in lip.

Vivienne Westwood

Vivienne Westwood: 80’s Love

Channelling a 2020 Cydni Lauper, makeup artist Isamaya Ffrench put emphasis at lip-level with a fire engine red lipstick. Paired with crimped locks by hairstylist Lyndell Mansfield, this look can be translated from night to day.

Erdem: Headbands and Rosy cheeks

Stacked headbands are so in, with Dior sparking the trend earlier this year. Hairstylist Anthony Turner brings affordable to the runway, creating the look with a wrapped white rubbion around updos.

Makeup artist Jane Richardson, also stuck to an accessible brief layering Nars’ Exhibit A Blush over a liquid blush for dimensional flushed cheeks.

Victoria Beckham: Dolphin Skin

Beckham’s minimal look carried into makeup artist Lucia Pieroni’s radiant dolphin skin. Recreate the highlighting effect at home with aa cream or liquid highlighter such as Benefit’s High Beam. Fresh skin is IN.

Bethany Williams: Pop Art.

Taking inspiration from Williams’ collection, makeup artist Rebecca Davenport stuck to primary colours for the brand’s lookbook. Keeping a minimal look with one colourful focal point is the perfect look for daily mask wearing.

Charlotte Knowles : Bedazzled

Charlotte Knowles brought a myriad of beauty statements to LFW. From neon green hair to blue lashes, the most striking trend of all; the 90’s inspired bedazzled body art dreamed up by de Kluyver. Will you be pulling this look into summer festivals?
