Our Favourite At-Home Workouts

by Esha

Hanging in the balance, Auckland returns to alert level three at midday on the 12 of August, and many of us around the country return to working from home, as the rest of the country moves to alert level two.

During New Zealand’s first lockdown, morning workouts became something of an escape for my household during Level 3 & 4. We spent the month testing out all sorts of online classes and videos to not only keep ourselves fit but because working out helped with our mental health.

Here is a list of our top hits; from F45-Esque HIIT classes to dance workouts, you’ll be surprised what can make you work up a sweat.

Feel Fit by India Heath

Feel Fit by India Heath

Kiwi influencer and entrepreneur India Heath is best known for her Lightroom presets, but boy can this chick workout! A set of three, these are my go-to quick HIIT session.

Relying solely on body weight, the 25-minute workout kicks your butt in no time. No, literally, after the first workout, my muscles definitely let me know about it – not sure if that says something about my starting fitness!

Caroline Daur Fitness

Caroline Daur & Daur Power

You may know her as @carodaur on Instagram, a popular European fashion influencer who has worked with some of the worlds largest brands. In October of last year, Caroline worked with her personal trainer on a 14 minute HIIT workout, which has now spanned into seven free workout videos on Youtube. They are fast, sweat-inducing cardio sessions working the abs, full-body, booty and arms. Caroline has also recently launched DaurPower, an online three month fitness E-Book at 29.99Euro.

Amnda Kloots Fitness

AK! By Amanda Kloots

As a former Broadway dancer, it’s no surprise that Amanda’s workouts are dance and rope-based! Developing the jump rope method after years of trying to stay in killer shape, she launched her online classes – AK! A mix of dance and cross-training, these videos kept me entertained and very puffed – a positive side effect of working out of course!

Fluid Form Pilates

FluidForm at Home by Kristen King

Fluid Form Pilates founder Kristen King launched Fluidform at home to provide flexibility to those who couldn’t come into her Sydney based studio.
