One of our favourite parts of Mecca – apart from their amazing range & incredible staff – are their in-store services. I am partial to their in-store makeup service, especially when I have an impending event. The best part? The service price is fully redeemable on product on the day! Maybe a lipstick to touch up at the event, or you’ve just run out of foundation – perfect!
Now meet: The Mecca Facial – a unique hybrid between a facial and education session, the newest in-store service you never knew you needed! Unique to the flagship store on Queen Street, the service is designed to provide an in-store experience like no other.
Welcomed in-store for an in-depth chat about your skin and routine, you are paired with a Mecca Skin Expert. It’s the perfect time to address any skin concerns, ask questions about products, skincare or anything Mecca! Each facial is tailored to you & your skin type with products from around the store. This gives you the chance to try specific products if there is something you have always wanted to try. I immediately went for Dr. Barbara Sturm’s serum range, a brand I’ve been dying to try.
The store offers three unique facials; The K-Beauty – a 10 step facial combining the key parts of a Korean beauty routine. The Cyro Facial- a cold therapy treatment to tighten and improve the skin’s texture, both in-store now. And, from the 9th of August, The 24-Karat Gold Facial, which is just as luxe as it sounds.
I was paired with the lovely Euniece, a scientist by trade, who tailored the facial to my skins needs: deep winter hydration. I felt so warmly invited into a space, that I would usually view as a busy retail store. The hustle and bustle behind me melted into the background, the focus was purely on my skin. An element of surprise for me, was how comfortable I was in my sheet-mask on Queen Street. Definitely nothing to be afraid of there.
We chatted, about lockdown, skincare, beauty and work. We masked, we serumed, we hydrated – with a $1k moisturiser no less! I learnt A LOT, especially about brands I hadn’t reached for before. It was a full sensorial experience from start to finish.
Throughout the experience, one element that stood out, was the added benefit of receiving education surrounding each product that was being used, and having the ability to openly ask questions. Whether you’re a skincare newbie or a seasoned serum lover the Mecca Facial is the perfect way to change up your skincare routine just as the cold hits.
Mecca Facial is available to be booked in-store at Mecca Queen Street or online at meccabeauty.co.nz
